Since 2014, JETAA Wellington has organised a community photo contest for people to show off their best photos of Japan. The photos are then displayed in the Japan Information & Cultural Centre (JICC) in Wellington, and voted on by the public. At the end of the contest, a small awards ceremony with food and drinks is held to announce the winners and present prizes.
VOTING IS NOW OPEN – SEE ALL THE 2017 ENTRIES HERE.
The contest is open to any amateur photographers who have been to Japan. You are open to interpret the categories however you would like.
This year’s categories are:
- Pop Culture
- Postcards from JETs
Voting: 10 photos from each category have been selected for public display at the Japan Information & Cultural Centre. Public voting until 12 December 2017 will decide the winners in each category.
Prizes: The first place prize for each category is a canvas print of the winning photo, plus a $40 restaurant voucher. The second place prize for each category is a $30 restaurant voucher. The Postcards from JETs prize is a special Kiwi care package full of things from home.
Please email questions you may have about the contest. In the meantime, check out past year’s entries and winners:
