On 15 March, JETAA Wellington members got together at the Kazu Yakitori Bar for the Annual General Meeting! Aside from enticing, free Japanese izakaya food, lots of important business happens at the AGM as well! In addition to discussions about chapter rules and amendments, a new executive committee for 2017 had to be nominated and voted for. Thankfully, this went a lot more smoothly and quickly than usual, with no one having to take up katanas and duel it out.
The new committee for the 2017-2018 year was decided as:
- Mark Dittmer – President
- Seamus Hone Brady – Vice President
- Michael Roberts – Secretary
- Hannah Lee – Treasurer
- Steven Thompson – Communications Manager
- Aaron Liew – Jkaiwa Manager
- Raewyn MacGregor – NZ Country Rep
Since the meeting in March, Aaron was called away to Palmerston North for a great job opportunity with Toyota. In addition, Raewyn’s fantastically successful tenure as the NZ Country Rep for JETAA International will be coming to a close. We’ll have information about the new rep soon!
We also want to take this opportunity to thank the incredible 2016-2017 committee for their tireless efforts volunteering their time and hard work towards JETAA Wellington. Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to Natalie Liverant for her service as Vice-President last year, and our continued appreciation goes out to Michael and Hannah for staying on for another year!
