JETAA Wellington once again joined in on the city’s biannual Japan Festival, and we had a great time! We brought back our ever-popular taiyaki booth as well as a stamp rally booth to encourage visitors to see a variety of exhibitors on the show floor as they hunted for stamps.
We gave out all 300 of our stamp rally sheets, introducing many of Wellington’s children and families to a lesser-known Japanese tradition. On the taiyaki side, we ran out of ingredients by 3:00 PM, selling over 400 by the time we were done. We’ll have to remember to stock even more batter next year!
Both tables were only successful thanks to the hard work of our members who showed up to volunteer. We had a great time catching up with some folks we hadn’t seen in a while, and saw lots of alumni checking the festival out!
Afterward, we went out for a little otsukare dinner at Rogue & Vagabond to celebrate the pay-off of months of planning and preparation. We hope to see you out there in 2020!
