Volunteering is an important part of Wellington JETAA’s yearly calendar, and this year we did some volunteering with Transpower to benefit Youthline Wellington.
Our volunteering this year involved some of our generous members swapping out the emergency water in the Wellington Transpower office – it was hard work!
From helping out Transpower, we were able to donate $800 to Wellington Youthline. Through our experience of teaching in Japan, we came to understand how important supports such as youthline can help children and young people live their best lives.
Youthline is an organisation of enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers, who work to provide a safe, youth-centered service that supports and empowers young people. Especially in this unprecedented year, organisations such as Youthline are doing important work with little funding support, and we wanted to show our appreciation and support for our local community who do such great work giving back.
